Can I get my things
back if they don’t sell?
I
have heard that you are picky about what you accept.
Are you?
If I don’t pick up, what happens to my things?
How much will you price
my things?
Will my things be
on sale?
Do you buy outright?
Can
I pick up my things before they go on sale?
Do I have to make an appointment?
How do you keep track
of my things?
Is there a fee to become a consignor?
- Why
shop resale for your children?
Smart shoppers
have discovered resale shops and you should too. Here are a few
reasons why:
- Quality:
If you value the quality of better label clothing, resale
can be your secret budget weapon.
- Savings:
At prices ranging from 50% to 75% off new, your clothing
dollars go further in resale.
- Bargains:
abound in resale every day. You don’t
have to wait for a sale.
- Variety:
In a resale shop, there are more choices of colors, styles,
designers and sizes than any mall store can offer.

Are you?
We’re
proud to be picky. We want our customers
to expect the best quality at
Village Kids They
do not want to have to wade through lots of undesirable things to get
to a few nice things.
In fact, our customers have consistently told us
that they love to shop with us because they know they can come
to Village Kids to find the best quality and brands of children's consignment clothing.
As a consignor, your first-rate consignments will look and sell
better surrounded by other high quality items.
A
general rule of thumb is 1/3 to1/2 of original retail (often more),
depending on condition and desirability. We
advise anyone consigning with us for the first time to stop in the store.
Compare your things to similar items on our racks.
If you have an unusual or very expensive item, please discuss
it with us.
Generally we do not buy
items for resale. Our consignors generally make more money over the course of their
consignment period than if we purchased the items. When a store purchases items
for resale they are taking the risk the item may not sell and factor
that risk into their purchase offers.
After explaining this to most people, they choose to consign.
No! We are accepting clothing whenever we are open! Just fold your items neatly
into a laundry basket, handled shopping bag, or sterlite container
(NO GARBAGE BAGS PLEASE!) and we will sort them on the spot! If you have more than one bin/basket we may ask that you leave
your items with us for half a day so as to save your waiting time.
However, we only hold these items for a maximum of 3 days.
Of course!
You have seven days after your expiration date to request to pickup
your unsold items.
Please call
twenty-four hours in advance so we can have them ready for you..
After the seventh day
, they become the property of Village Kids.
We donate some to
Manna's Market
of Barry County, a free food and clothing bank
for needy families.
Yes. However, your items remain on the sales floor for up to 6 weeks
at full price giving your items their maximum amount of time to sell!
Unfortunately,
no. All consignors’ benefit from our merchandising
techniques. To allow one consignor to do
this would not be fair to the other consignors.
We use
a computer program especially designed for consignment shops.
Every consignor has their own account. All
items are entered in the computer and tags are printed with numbers
identifying the consignor and item. At any
you will be able to track your consigment account 24/7 online
No,
Village Kids charges no fees to consignors. We have a small buyers fee on
some items, which has no effect on consignor splits. |
